It seems that it is harder than ever to feel God’s presence in a life of a modern human. This is not due to God being inactive or distant from us, but due to the fact that our life focus is distorted. And society, media, politicians are of no help to improve this situation.
Why is the situation alike is not a matter of this discussion. I think we should rather think about what each one of us as an individual can do to fill our own lives with hope and creative passion.
Program with a clear mission
As we unveiled our idea to our friends, it was instantly evident that we were not alone in this wish to make things for the better. We were discussing how to embed our journey into a solid program, which will have a clear mission and will enable people, who feel the same, to follow its aim.
Humanitarian society
The idea about humanitarian society was alive in our minds for a long time. If we were to visit communities, write about what God works through their activities, describing the God’s way to help, heal, save and comfort these people in need, and if we were to encourage our readers to donate a small amount for their successful work, then why not establish a formal society and implement our vision and mission this way?
Operando – God works!
On February 11th 2016, we and our friend Barbara Bajželj formed a new entity – the Operando society. The word ‘Opera’ origins from Latin and the meaning is ‘creating, creative work’, the word Operando is a verb in the present tense and is best represented in the Italian sentence:
‘Dio sta operando’ or God works (right here, right this moment).
I do believe our mission is to proclaim and testify about what God is doing to the world, what God is doing for our lives and what God is doing to the poor, marginalized and helpless people among us.
We sort of want to be a counterpart to a modern populist media, who constantly refocus our attention to things that either do not matter or are presented in a very thin and scrapped way. We are losing faith that good and positive things still happen nowadays.
We are observing, witnessing, donating
We would like to stay alert to God’s work and make donations to be part of His creating process. We do not mean merely financial donations, donations can be delivered by thousands of different ways. For example, by spending time with people who need our help or feel lonely, donating our hands and feet to those who need our support, donate our talents to all who could use them right. All in all, donate ourselves to God, who can include us in His master-plan.

Pretty soon, our idea was adopted by 10 of our friends and each friend is helping Operando on its own way. We are truly grateful for their contribution since this is an additional activity out of their regular jobs and is delivered by pure, genuine and sincere intentions.
We do believe that our efforts will be fruitful one day and we do feel God’s confirmation and blessings for our endeavours.
