Charity Donation For Missionaries in Colombia

$1,958 of $10,000 raised

In the area of Chocó there is a wild war. On the one hand, illegal guerrillas, on the other, army and police.

The worst victims of the war are not the soldiers, but the communities of Indians and Afro-Colombians, native people living there.

New casualties are reported daily in these territories. In the forests inhabited by natives, the illegal army chases them out of their territory; burning their homes, killing men, raping women, bombing houses so they need to move out, elsewhere - always where the land is poor and living conditions impoverished.

People flee their homes to the settlement of Riosucio, where they live in extreme misery, poverty, desperate because they cannot return home. Missionaries want to help these people, but unfortunately, they often lack the resources to work effectively.

They want to rebuild their missionary library, to provide people with space for music and theater activities, where young people will be able to get in touch with their roots and culture.

Two of our missionaries spent one whole month in Riosucio and they wrote a lot about the situation there. If you are interested to know more, check out their articles here >>

Thank you so much for every dollar dedicated to missionaries in Chocó and the people they live and work with.

Support Operando Society

$9,888 of $15,000 raised

We are devoted volunteers and we don't want to live in a society where there are a poverty, hunger and misery, which is just inexcusable!

We believe our World can be better, nicer and fair. We do our best to contribute, adding our peace of the puzzle to get this beautiful picture we all thrive for.

We are not paid for the work we do; the money is not our motivation and doesn't drive us in our endeavours working with (and for) the poor from the edges of our society. But of course, without financial resources, we could not implement our goals and activities.

Our website and all that we offer you for free actually cost us. A global missionary journey of our volunteers, Silva and Nace, also costs. There are expenses of transport that we pay regularly from our account - the money that depends on our donors, sponsors, supporters and all the others who want to contribute their share to our mission.

Hence, your donation is not a gift for the benefits of our members and volunteers. It is entirely spent to develop new projects and to cover our regular expenses: website maintenance, accounting and travel expenses for our volunteers.

We know that you care. So we encourage you to support our work and make it possible for us to help the poorest in this World.

Let’s help Ina and other poor families in São Paulo

$1,571 of $2,000 raised

Some time ago, we started a charity campaign to raise money for Ina and her son Fabio. You can read her story here.

Her life did not spare her. Huntington's disease took her husband, later her daughter, and her son Fabio was already very ill at the time. She asked us to help her to buy a wheelchair, so she could occasionally take Fabio out into the sun and fresh air. She couldn't do it without a wheelchair.

In the meantime, Fabio succumbed to illness, but for Mrs. Ina, who is now without a son's pension, we continue to raise money. We will help her with the most urgent necessities.

The wheelchair, however, will be dedicated to Gilbert; you can read his story here. Today, he is 29 years old, but since his birth he is suffering from a severe form of meningitis, he has been immobile and always completely dependent on his mother Zuldia.

Zuldia told us that three years ago, she filed all the documents the municipality requires for her wheelchair allocation. Sadly, it takes so long to get things done in the offices. Now, after three years, she has been told in the municipality that her documents have been 'lost'. The Brazilian reality.

At Operando, we don't want these people waiting. With the money we raise, we will buy Gilbert a good wheelchair. Every dollar will come in handy. Thank you for your help!

Let’s help missionaries in Bolivia to the Christmas celebration for the homeless

$1,745 of $2,000 raised

Sisters from the El Camino community in Bolivia serve outcast people in Santa Cruz; enslaved prostitutes, addicted adolescents, homeless children and adults living on the streets, in canals, under bridges, on sidewalks, in situations difficult to imagine.

In this charity campaign, we raise money so that the sisters can organize a Christmas celebration for all these people, buy humble gifts for them (new clothes and other basic necessities, toys and school supplies for children), and prepare a Christmas meal for them.

Let's help and empower people from the far edge of society so that they too will experience Christmas as every human being deserves. Decently!

Helping Indigenous Children in the Peruvian Amazon Forest to Basic Medicines and Emergency Medical Devices

$2,937 of $3,000 raised

There are five missionaries in Atalaya, a Peruvian town just off the Amazon rainforest, who regularly travel from the city to the most remote Indigenous villages far in the forests.

They face great challenges. These missionaries travel the dangerous paths, even twelve hours or more, by boat and on foot. They often even risk their lives.

What Indigenous need most are medication. There are no doctors in the villages, so people too often die of the most basic diseases.

Medication is most needed for children who are born weak and otherwise malnourished.

Missionaries want to set up pharmacies near these villages; wooden houses where medicines would be stored and more easily accessible. Many diseases can be prevented and cured.

The money we collect at Operando will be used by missionaries to buy pharmacy-building materials, as well as to purchase medicines to stock pharmacies.

Your help is most welcome. We can save and improve many lives!

Mission in Pachacutec

Let’s help the people of Pachacutec

$1,420 of $1,500 raised

Pachacutec is one of the poorest parts of Lima, in fact it is a desert area of Peru, because as with the entire area of the 10 millionth capital, there is virtually no rainfall.

Donation for Pachacutec

There are thousands of wooden sheds on sandy, desert soil, where there are no trees or gardens and no vegetation.

Donation for Pachacutec
They not only lack of work, money for food and good living conditions. What is most pressing in Pachacutec is the lack of the most basic: water.

Donation for Pachacutec

People have to pay almost € 40 a month for water delivery, which is 10% of their monthly wage.

The problem is that the water, which is then stored in plastic barrels, cannot be well taken care of. Insects swim in it, mosquitoes hatch their eggs on the surface, stray dogs drink from it. People are not educated enough to take care of their own health and hygiene.

Claretine missionaries would like to help them. They want to build a multifunctional facility where apart from the chapel they would also arrange educational rooms and other facilities so they could spend more time with people. At the moment, there is only a modest, wooden chapel in this place.

Let us help them with their goal and thus help the people of Pachacutec to live a more dignified and quality life.
