As God’s children, we have plenty of reassurances of what we can get from His Word. These are key to our daily lives. Here is a look at some of the promises of Jesus that you can draw on as you go through the different cycles of life.
“All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.”
John 6:37
Here, Christ assures those who come to him of acceptance. He will not send them away. Instead, Jesus extends the invitation to all, and if you go to him, he will be waiting, ready to take you into the fold.
Promises of Jesus On Help
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
Matthew 6:33
Jesus tells us what we should set our minds to. It should be on the worries of the world and uncertainties about what the future holds. Instead, we should focus on the Kingdom of God, and our needs will be met.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28
Are you tired and feel as though you carry the weight of the world on your shoulders? Do you feel burdened by guilt, frustration, and dissatisfaction for not meeting certain religious standards?
In this section, Jesus warned about the legalistic and oppressive ways of the Pharisees that were tying up heavy loads and putting them on men’s shoulders – with all the rules and regulations that were coming in the form of true spirituality.
While the Old Testament Laws were good and showed people how to live, people were left under a load of guilt and sin. Jesus offered freedom, and you can get this when you turn to him.
God Promise Quotes To Give You Hope and Strength
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Isaiah 41:10
We all encounter situations that strike fear in us. Things that put at risk, health, and finance issues, others that we don’t have control over – it’s a part of life. Here, God reminds us that He will be with us all through.
Note that this does not mean that God is disappointed in you when you fear. You wouldn’t be disappointed in your children if you found them cowering over something, be it a school bully or a dream they had at night.
Instead, you reassure them, and they gradually outgrow the fear. God acknowledges that we will face fears, and tells us this promise to strengthen us and remind us to rely on his protection – then the fear won’t consume us.
You Are Not Alone
“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
Deuteronomy 31:8
Here, God was reassuring the Israelites that all would be well. With Moses being removed as their leader, it was a huge change for the people, given that they had followed Mosses for long, knew, and trusted him as being God’s voice.
This is another one of ‘God promise’ quotes, giving us comfort and reassurance whenever we encounter life-changing events. God calms our fears and anxieties, reminding us that He intends for us to continue walking in His peace.
“What are God Words for me today?” you ask. Meditating on the word will help you in your growing relationship with God.
