As human beings, we have a natural tendency to look to the future and worry about it. Stressing about factors that are even not in our control is a common occurrence.
Jesus once asked
“Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?”Matthew 6:27
Worry and anxiety do the contrary, shortening our lifespan and taking away the peace and joy of the moment. You would be more relaxed if you knew that someone is looking out for you, right? Well, God is. Here are sections of scripture that show God cares for you.
Bible Verses About God’s Goodness
Firstly, God cares about His creation. Jesus highlights this in Matthew 6:26
“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”
With God caring for the plants in the fields, animals on the land, fish in the sea, and birds in the sky, don’t you think that He cares about you as well? Then why worry?
We are of much more value compared to the rest of the creation. As God provides for them, so much more will it be for us. Jesus goes further to state
“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?“Matthew 6:28-30

This is further emphasized in Matthew 10:29-31:
“Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.“
Holding You Through Both Calm And Stormy Waters
God stands by those who depend on Him, in all circumstances. He told Jacob,
“I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.”Gen 28:15
Every child of God is reminded that The Lord cares for us regardless of where we are, and in everything that we do.
However, we occasionally forget this. Just as the Israelites were faced by the Egyptian army, and Moses answered the people,
“Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again.“Exodus 14:13
We can draw a critical lesson from this. The Israelites had been delivered from Egypt, and had witnessed God’s miraculous power first-hand.
However, when they found themselves facing imminent danger with their enemy closing in, they gave in to their fear, and launched a barrage of complaints to Moses.
Similarly, today, those who have already been redeemed by Christ encounter problems in their day-to-day lives, that cause them to forget the liberty they have in God.
The words Moses spoke to the Israelites apply as much then as they do today. No matter what situation that we find ourselves in, the strife we face and enemies thrust on our path, the Lord is mighty to save. He is our very present help in times of trouble.
Are you constantly worried about what the future holds for you? It can be on a personal level, professional path with your career where the stress actually contributes to mental illness, or your interactions with the different relationships that you are in.
For us today, God has these words, from Matthew 6:34:
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” All through it, trust and believe in God and He will walk you through.
Turning To God For Comfort
Are you hurting, and asking yourself what does God say about taking care of us? You can draw lessons from David’s life. In fact, the book of Psalms contains prayers and poetry that are comforting and will show you more bible verses about God’s goodness.
Take the popular Psalm 23 for instance. It shows us how God rejuvenates us emotionally, physically and spiritually. In verse 1-4 are the words:
“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.“
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.“
There are plenty of lessons that we can learn from this. First, God provides for our needs. He doesn’t just take us to any random pastures, but the ideal “green pastures” that will be the best for us as His sheep.
DO YOU WANT TO BE NOTIFIED?
When we publish something new, you will be the first one to know about it.
The care provided is not limited to food, but also peace and tranquility, along with the desires of our heart that will be right for us. When we’re tired, He gives us additional strength, where “He refreshes my soul“.
God Cares For You, So Cast Your Burdens Unto Him
With all the ups and downs of life, you are bound to find yourself in situations that make you anxious. What do you do?
“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7) Note that it is all anxieties, not just some of them.
Holding back will not do you any good, yet releasing yourself to God will bring you true peace and comfort. Paul continues to tell us in Philippians 4:6:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.“
Trust In God
It’s human to be anxious and uncertain. We also encounter events in life that fill us with dread, and others leave us hurt and deeply wounded, be it physically or emotionally. However, if you keep abiding in His word and relying on His promises, you will see that God cares for you, and He will see you through the different issues that you face.
