How would you react when suddenly a disheartening report from your doctor hits your table? Would you still remain calm and collected as if you heard nothing?

Whose report would you believe between God Almighty and the verdict from your doctor?

In the book of Isaiah the Bible says:

“He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes, we are healed.”

Isaiah 53:5

This verse clearly points out that despite any situation around you, God is in charge. Keep trusting in Him for only He can have the final say in your life.

Trust God Against All Odds

I recently watched a very inspiring video from CBN 700 club. It is a story of a cancer survivor called Shirley Williams who, against all odds, put all her faith in God and got healed from Stage IV Cancer. It is a testament that when you kneel before God, He will empower you to stand before any adversary and emerge victoriously.

DO YOU WANT TO BE NOTIFIED?

When we publish something new, you will be the first one to know about it.

The Bible, in the book of Psalms you can read:

“Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me.”

Psalms 30:2

The Story of Shirley Williams

Shirley Williams is the wife of Mark Williams. Together, they serve as pastors at Grace Christian Fellowship in Alpine, Texas.

One day, Shirley got a call from her doctor. The doctor on the other side of the line had bad news to deliver.

‘Shirley, you have been diagnosed with cancer and unfortunately, it’s not only in your breast, but it has spread into your bones, organs, and into your lymph nodes.”

The sad cold news cut through Shirley’s heart like a hot knife. Through tears, she asked God questions, “How could this be?  God, I’ve served you all my life. Why should this happen to me?”

For some time, Shirley had been experiencing chest pains and feeling weak. She rarely took the time to visit the doctor.  However, with time the pains persisted and she had no option but to get tested.

There are more than 5,000 promises in the Bible.

What followed next was a long list of tests that revealed the root of Shirley’s problems. She had stage IV cancer. Moreover, she had been a 90-day life ultimatum.

At that point, Shirley’s husband talked to her. “Shirley, in whose report are we going to believe?” Only God’s report is final in every situation.

Days after the diagnosis, the pain kept getting worse but Shirley refused to give up the fight. Instead, she and her husband Mark chose to live by faith in the promises of God.

Cast Your Burdens Unto The Lord

Shirley continued praying earnestly to God in faith day in day out and calling upon His supernatural healing. Her church family joined in the prayers and fasting too, for the Bible clearly states that where two or three are gathered in God’s name, He is also there.

Meanwhile, Shirley faithfully continued with her treatment believing that God was in charge. Months later, the 90 days life ultimatum that she had been given elapsed and she decided to go for a checkup.

The doctor in charge examined her and surprisingly confirmed that her tumor was gone and there was no more cancer in her body. That was a miracle right there!

Shirley jumped excitedly, thanking God for her restoration as tears of joy freely flowed down her cheeks. True to God’s healing power, since that day in August 2012, Shirley has been cancer-free. God’s mighty hand is also able to heal you if you put your trust in Him.

May God Intervene In Your Situation

May God heal you in every situation. May He give you joy and unwavering faith in Him in every step of your life. Cancer is declared defeated from your life forever for there is no other name above the name of Jesus.

In the area of Chocó there is a wild war. On the one hand, illegal guerrillas, on the other, army and police.

The worst victims of the war are not the soldiers, but the communities of Indians and Afro-Colombians, native people living there.

New casualties are reported daily in these territories. In the forests inhabited by natives, the illegal army chases them out of their territory; burning their homes, killing men, raping women, bombing houses so they need to move out, elsewhere - always where the land is poor and living conditions impoverished.

People flee their homes to the settlement of Riosucio, where they live in extreme misery, poverty, desperate because they cannot return home. Missionaries want to help these people, but unfortunately, they often lack the resources to work effectively.

They want to rebuild their missionary library, to provide people with space for music and theater activities, where young people will be able to get in touch with their roots and culture.

Two of our missionaries spent one whole month in Riosucio and they wrote a lot about the situation there. If you are interested to know more, check out their articles here >>
