6 God’s Promises for a Joyful Path of Holiness

Our Father does not deceive us. So, we can rely on God’s promises to care for us in our times of need. We can rely on Him—the One True God—to keep these six scriptural promises.

God's promises

God’s Promises for Your Every Need

God is faithful as a loving father is faithful. God’s promises for your every need are designed to carry you through the difficult times so that you may grow in virtue and ultimately gain everlasting joy in heaven.

God’s Promises of Solidarity and Faithfulness

God promises to accompany us to battle when we maintain hope in His good leadership. When we remain righteous, He leads us to victory.

Be strong and steadfast; have no fear or dread of [your adversaries], for it is the Lord, your God, who marches with you; he will never fail you or forsake you”.

Deuteronomy 31:6

When we face a battle, we can depend on God to be our general, marching at the front of the line, leading us to victory. God does not forsake us as we encounter our adversaries. As long as we give the enemy no foothold, God promises to guard us against the devil’s tactics.

“The Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you against the evil one”.

2 Thessalonians 3:3

God strengthens you most, especially in trying times. Satan’s lies and deception are skillful attacks on our courage to continue the good fight. The evil one says, No one will come to your aid, you cannot win the battle, it is useless to even try.

Indeed, if we rely on our own faculties, we may expect a certain beating. However, with God, all things are possible. When we keep His commands, we prove to be His friends, and He promises to protect us.

God’s Promises of Renewal and Sustenance

God promises to renew our strength when we hope in Him.

“They that hope in the Lord will renew their strength, they will soar on eagles’ wings; They will run and not grow weary, walk and not grow faint”.

Isaiah 40:31

Christ expressed to St. Faustina that the most pleasing offering a soul can give is trust in the Lord. Faustina wrote in her Diary that trust and patience bring enormous blessings (No. 1514).

Christ has already encountered Death and conquered through His saving Resurrection. What enemies of ours would cause Jesus to tremble? Jesus, who is victorious over Death!

“[God] said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.’ I will rather boast most gladly of my weaknesses,] in order that the power of Christ may dwell with me”.

2 Corinthians 12:9

God promises to sustain us when we offer Him our whole selves, even our weakness.

God’s Promises of Mercy and Love

God promises to accept our repentant hearts when we forsake sin and seek Him.

“If we acknowledge our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from every wrongdoing”.

1 John 1:9

God makes all things new. We should not limit Him by considering ourselves beyond forgiveness or transformation.

Remember the young boy who offered Jesus his loaves and fish when the crowd grew hungry. It is not our job to work the miracle; we are called only to offer what we have in faith.

“[I pray] that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, rooted and grounded in love, may have the strength to comprehend with all the holy ones what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God”.

Ephesians 3:17-19

We must dedicate ourselves always to seek Him and His Sacred Heart which radiates love for us continually. We are His loving children, so we follow His commands, knowing that as a loving Father, God’s promises lead to the joyful path of holiness.
